TERRIBLE OF MY SISTER JANETH, WHO LOOKS MORE LIKE HER PRETTY SELF

You can see how pretty Janeth was in the photos Linda sent me today. I cropped her out of the unflattering one with our brother Dick.  She kept her beautiful dark hair and flawless skin all the way up to her 80s and her final days.
Love,
Isha

I always thought you were pretty, Isha.   You are/were a tall glass of cool water!

One problem with this woman's once passable-looking self: it is very very hard to look at one’s wigless, cross-eyed image during breakfast, which I have in my bedroom, sitting on the mattress at the foot of my bed.  I have awesome fantasies about changing the furniture's arrangement, lifting up bodily the bureau with its shocking reflection and placing it elsewhere, anywhere else that the mirror can reflect something other than me.
Of course I am not strong enough physically to solve the dilemma this way and have just publicly confessed to being not strong enough mentally and emotionally to accept growing old ungracefully. Barely strong enough, I should say, or I wouldn’t still be here, still capable of looking at the daisies my sister said she longed to be pushing up.  Quick!  Grab the wig and the tinted glasses, someone’s at the door!
Kathie and Ted are both dealing daily with problems far huger than mine.  I admire them for the courage they must have inherited from their father.
    Enough of this whining. . . .

P. S.  Are there any other old ladies out there, raging about the ravages of aging? The ones I meet at Linden Ponds are all beautiful.
CANDIDLY SPEAKING, WHO WOULDN'T BE CROSS
ABOUT BECOMING CROSS-EYED AND DOUBLE-CHINNED?
