"COME, COME, BEEHAVE YOURSELF AND GO TO WORK." (26)

                                                        BUZZITA

          Buzzita was a funny bee,

            A lazy litle honeybee

   Who thought that making honey wasn't fun.

           She longed to be a butterfly,

           To fly and flit and flutter by,

        Or teeter on a flower in the sun.

          When every other honeybee

         Was hunting honey hungrily,

 She hid beneath a leaf, and tried to shirk,

     Until the Queen with brittle tone

  Spoke sharply from her little throne:

                              "Come, come, beehave yourself and go to work."

                                                                                                            Leo Harrington

                  Ashamed, Buzzita flew away,

             She went to work and worked all day

             To fill her honey‑bucket to the top;

          Nor did she pause when four‑o‑clocks

              With tiny, tinkling ticks and tocks

           Instructed her that it was time to stop.

          And as she worked, she sang this song:

           "I'm glad that I am big and strong,

       For work is good for honeybees like me;

              And since I'm not a butterfly

            That likes to flit and flutter by,

      I'll try to be the bee a bee should be!"
